It is really about theatrical proxemics; about the show-within-a-show and the spontaneous, visceral reactions of folks being astonished.' Watch trailers. Released Description: This documentary portrait follows Roller Derby's 'Meanest Mama on Skates', Ann Calvello.

Actually in her 70s, Ann refuses to give up the limelight - she is still bashing heads on the banked track of any upstart league that will have her. And she's still acting like the bawdy terrible woman of the Derby, even as she bags groceries at her part-time job at Safeway. In the two years the documentary follows her, Ann simultaneously grapples with her declining ability to skate and her determination to be the first professional athlete to have competed continuously in a sport for six decades.Watch trailers. Released Description: The Longest Way, a travel blog I kept during my attempt to walk home from Beijing to Germany. It’s a cute comprehensive site: I chronicled what was event on the street for a entire year from 2007 to 2008, and for two more months in 2010 and 2012 respectively. The fresh section of the walk that started in the summer of 2016 is also in there!

In total, the website has accumulated more than 600 posts, all of which are in English, and most of which are about walking. There are maps, images and videos to accompany the posts, and for most walking days I would pick a song that I thought was worth listening to on that day. If you read it all, you will receive a cute nice impression of what it was like to walk through Northern China in the Olympic year and the years after, and through Central Asia this year.Watch trailers. Released 1/17/2011Description: Pendarvia is a 30 minute movie that documents the recording process of The Decemberists album 'The Lord Is Dead' (Capitol, 2011). The album was recorded in a barn in rural Oregon. Pendarvia is heavily driven by the natural surroundings of the area, inter-cutting melody with pretty shots of the surrounding scenery.

The movie follows the abstractly linear narrative of the recording process, inter-cutting found moments of dialogue from the band, producer Tucker Martine, collaborators and friends. The movie is a pretty audio/visual collage that explores the trials and tribulations of the constructive process.Watch trailers. Released 7/9/1998Description: Everyone knows that the Chicago Bulls are the squad of the 1990s, if not all time. In 1998 they won their unmatched sixth NBA game of the '90s. But this was not the same squad that squashed all enemies that stood before them, united and led magnificently by users such as Scottie Pippen and the irresistible Michael Jordan. At the beginning of the 1998 season, this squad was anything but united. His Airness was still His Airness, but the rest of the Bulls looked less than a shadow of their selves.

Viola Chilensis 2003 Calendar

Pippen stood injured on the sidelines demanding a trade, Rodman looked more interested in Hollywood and his hair, and the helping cast were beginning to look extremely vulnerable. But as with all nice teams, they dusted themselves off, wiped away the cobwebs (not to mention the odd ego or two), and played out the final two-thirds of the regular season like the Chicago Bulls of old.Watch trailers.

An uplifting feature documentary highlighting the transformative power of art and the beauty of the human spirit. Top-selling contemporary artist Vik Muniz takes us on an emotional journey from Jardim Gramacho, the world's largest landfill on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, to the heights of international art stardom. Vik collaborates with the brilliant catadores, pickers of recyclable materials, true Shakespearean characters who live and work in the garbage quoting Machiavelli and showing us how to recycle ourselves. The story of one man's triumph over adversity: cameras followed the comedian on a very stressful comeback tour and caught the story behind some of his best loved material en route. Prior to his Sexie tour in 2003 and under extreme pressure to write, he delved into his own life for inspiration. So began an accidental voyage into his past that paralleled his world tour and culminated in a moment of revelation about the source of his relentless drive.

Film contains exclusive never-before-seen footage including the famous 'wolves' material, his first student sketches and unicycle-riding as a street performer in Covent Garden. Hilarious and moving by turns, an inspiring tale of how tragedy can be turned to laughter. Affectionate tribute to Bruce Vilanch, who writes material for celebrities who make public appearances, from Oscar hosts and award recipients to Presidents. We meet his mom and see photos of his childhood; in Chicago, he writes for the Tribune and then heads West.

Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, and Bette Midler talk with him and to the camera about working with Bruce, and we also watch Bruce help others prepare for Liz Taylor's 60th, Bill Clinton's 50th, and an AIDS awards banquet where the hirsute, rotund Vilanch lets his emotions show. In WikiRebels, we learn about the early hacker life of Julian Assange, and his later decision to form an organization where whistleblowers can anonymously pass information that documents crime and immorality. His stated goal is to expose injustice, and nothing exemplifies this more than the leaked film entitled “Collateral Murder.” WikiRebels shows other films released by WikiLeaks, and catalogs the most significant leaks since its 2006 inception, including the Iceland banking scandal, Kenya corruption and death squads, and toxic dumping in Cote D’Ivoire. This dryly funny mockumentary about the lost work of a pioneering New Zealand film genius is probably one of the best examples of the faux-documentary genre. In fact, it was so successful that when it originally aired on New Zealand television, hundreds of viewers bought the premise hook, line, and sinker.

If you didn't know any better yourself, it's entirely possible you might be duped into believing the extremely tall tale of one Colin MacKenzie, an ambitious filmmaker who made the world's first talking movie (years before The Jazz Singer), invented color film, and created a huge biblical epic that would put Cecil B. DeMille and D.W. Griffith to shame. Filmmaker Peter Jackson (Heavenly Creatures) shrewdly inserts himself into the film via his documentation of the 'discovery' of McKenzie's lost epic, which for years was preserved in a garden shed. The two get into a series of brawls and shoot-outs until they arrive in the town and find the boy's inheritance -which turns out not to be as useless as it first appears.

When three 18-year-old students at a prestigious University - Mika, Kit, and Swift - dig up dirt on their crazy college principal, the hunt for the would-be blackmailers begins. Fleeing from their pursuers, the three amigos find themselves on the women's snowboarding team bus. They have no choice but to put on the team's brightly colored jackets and blend in with the crowd of snowboarding girls. But the clothes alone won't cut it: as diehard practitioners of extreme sports, they are not about to miss their chance to show off their snowboarding skills. The National Women's Snowboarding Team's trainer Svetlana Nikolayevna spots the new talent and invites the 'girls' to join the team for the trials in Sochi.

The friends jump at the chance of free rides on Olympic-grade tracks and once and for all evading the college principal's goons. Now released to conside with the 20th anniversary of the release of Nirvana's watershed album, 'Nevermind', famed documentarian and music video director Lance Bangs has been personally involved in the restoration of the film and the result is, according to Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, 'a pretty good representation of the band' in their heyday.
